Staff sign-in & Google 2-Step Verification

AdvisorCompass requires Google sign-in for workforce users (ADMIN, ADVISOR, SUPERADMIN). We do not support email magic links for staff roles.

To protect client and case data, each customer organization must require Google 2-Step Verification (2SV) on every Google account used to access AdvisorCompass. AdvisorCompass does not enforce 2SV inside the application; we rely on your Google account security.

Before inviting staff

  • Use Google Workspace or Google accounts your organization controls (or where you can enforce security policy).

  • Turn on 2-Step Verification for all staff who will use AdvisorCompass — org-wide via Google Admin (recommended) or per user.

  • Do not share staff Google accounts or leave unlocked shared workstations signed in to AdvisorCompass.

Recommended Google Workspace settings

  • 2-Step Verification: on for all users (or at minimum for groups that access AdvisorCompass).

  • Follow Google’s current guidance for OAuth app access (legacy “less secure apps” settings are deprecated).

  • New device / session alerts: enabled where available.

Workspace admins: open the Google Admin consoleand search Google’s help for “2-Step Verification enforcement.” Menu names change over time.

Staff access to AdvisorCompass — security checklist

  • Each advisor/admin has their own Google account (no shared login)

  • 2-Step Verification is ON for every account that accesses AdvisorCompass

  • Workspace admin has enforced 2SV (or verified each user manually)

  • Staff know not to approve unknown Google sign-in prompts

  • Former staff Google / AdvisorCompass access is removed when they leave

If a user cannot use 2SV, contact info@advisorcompass.ai before granting production access to case data. Staff access is Google OAuth only today.
